We had the pleasure of hosting Marilyn and John’s wedding aboard the Raincoast Maiden today. The ceremony took place while anchored in a sheltered cove in the Broken Group Islands, followed by champagne and a fabulous spread of canapes catered by Norwoods Restaurant.
At this time of year any day like this is a bonus!
I love the way each year is a time for new
beginnings.
Seeing this lonesome Brown Pelican, was definitely one of this week’s more unusual sightings. Barkley Sound is near the northern end of their range, so we see them very seldom.
Congratulations to Kevan & Shannon who tied the knot in a rather unique and special way. We dropped them off on one of the islands in the Broken Group for their wedding ceremony before literally heading back into the sunset on our way back to Ucluelet. What a truly magical evening it was! We are thrilled to have been able to play a part in their elopement wedding.
Seeing this wolf walk by on the shore while we were anchored up Ucluelet Inlet on our “day off” yesterday was a magical surprise!
We are thrilled to report that after a long, “dry” spell of seeing few whales, we are finally seeing some Humpback whales in Barkley Sound. Best of all, we have watched them feeding over the last few days. We hope they are here to stay for the rest of the summer.
