Open for the 2015 Season!

Colage 2We are now open for the season, so join us to see whales, wildlife and the spectacular scenery of the Broken Group Islands!

Back in Beautiful Barkley Sound

This week the Raincoast Maiden finally made the trip back up the West Coast to Ucluelet after being in Sidney for its annual refit. Back in Barkley Sound, we anchored in the Broken Group Islands where we were greeted by calm seas and clear skies.  It is wonderful to be back in this exceptionally beautiful area!

Shiny indeed!

This winter we had the hull painted and Al & I have recently oiled the wood, polished the stainless, waxed and polished all outside areas. So the Raincoast Maiden is clean, shiny and (almost) ready for another season. All we need now is good weather for the trip up the coast back to Ukee!!

Time to relax!

We are now closed for the season! Time to relax…. and then get ready to do it all over again (starting May 2015).
Thanks to our guests and the community for your support.  We do appreciate it!

Not Alone

At least we’re not alone on our dock.
This lovely, old California Sea Lion has taken to guarding our boat!

Tough Day at the Office

Always Different But Always Beautiful

The Broken Group Islands – many moods but always beautiful!

Home again

This lovely California Sea Lion seems rather pleased with himself, happy to be back in Ucluelet after his visit with the sea lion ladies in California. We’re certainly thrilled to have him back!

Momma Bear

Yesterday’s tour started off by watching this beautiful momma bear and her cub turning over rocks on the beach, looking for crabs underneath.
